Whale Watching 2010 Trip #2

October 8, 2010

It was a beautiful sunny day in Monterey.  As I waited for our boat to depart, I watched a pelican patiently wait for the fisherman as he cleaned his catch of the day.

The pelican thought it was worth the wait as the fisherman, threw him a piece!

Kelp is abdundant in Monterey Bay.

Our boat captain for the day.

The sky was blue, the water was calm.  Absolutely beautiful!

We were fortunate enough to spot a couple of Blue Whales.  The blue whales are almost extinct with only about 2000 in the world.  They are also the largest animal on the earth!!!!!

We were also fortunate to see some Rizzo Dolphins.  These dolphins do not have the long bottle nose that popular dolphins have and they are ver large weighing in at about 1000 lbs.

It was a beautiful day on the water.

More photos will be posted in http://www.californiashutterbug.com/ website soon!
